We are seeking a dependable and detail oriented Mechanic Associate to join our production support team. The Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various boat engines, mechanical systems, and related components. You will work closely with customers to ensure their boats are operating safely and efficiently. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on a variety of boats, including outboard motors, inboard motors, and her marine engines.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on engines, propellers, fuel systems, electrical systems, and other boat components.
  • Conduct troubleshooting to identify issues with performance, leaks, overheating, electrical failures, or other mechanical problems.
  • Replace or repair faulty components, such as engines, pumps, alternators, and transmission systems.
  • Perform boat winterization and de-winterization to ensure the vessel is protected during off-season months.
  • Install, maintain, and repair marine systems, including navigation equipment, lighting, and other onboard electronics.
  • Ensure that all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in boat engine technology and marine systems.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Boat Mechanic or Marine Technician.
  • Strong knowledge of boat engines, electrical systems, fuel systems, and mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various boat makes and models.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and equipment related to boat repair and maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, including tools, equipment, and marine parts, weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Comfort working in tight spaces, such as inside engine rooms or under decks, and at heights, when necessary.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small electrical components, wiring, and tools.
  • Good vision to read electrical diagrams, inspect wiring, and ensure proper connections.
  • Comfort working in tight spaces or at heights.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, with occasional weekend assignments.
This role is based in a boat manufacturing or repair facility. The work environment may involve exposure to chemicals and fumes, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
