We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and driven Restaurant & Coffee Shop Manager to lead an exciting and unique concept that combines exceptional food service with meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.


By day, our location operates as a vibrant community coffee shop. By night, it transforms into a welcoming restaurant serving guests from across the community. In addition to delivering outstanding customer experiences, this position plays a vital role in mentoring and supporting individuals participating in vocational training and employment programs.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and onboard employees
  • Create work schedules and manage staffing levels
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback
  • Foster an inclusive environment that supports vocational trainees and employees
  • Address employee concerns and disciplinary matters professionally
  • Conduct performance evaluations and develop staff growth opportunities


Guest Experience

  • Ensure exceptional customer service throughout all operating hours
  • Build relationships with guests and community members
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our mission and values
  • Promote a culture of hospitality and service excellence


Business & Financial Management

  • Manage daily cash handling and deposits
  • Review sales reports and key performance indicators
  • Monitor labor and food costs
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting
  • Approve invoices and oversee vendor relationships
  • Drive profitability while maintaining quality service


Operations Management

  • Oversee all daily operations of both the coffee shop and restaurant
  • Ensure smooth transitions between daytime and evening service models
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards
  • Coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house operations
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and facility needs
  • Ensure operational efficiency and consistency


Inventory & Purchasing

  • Order food, beverages, coffee products, and supplies
  • Track inventory and reduce waste
  • Maintain product quality standards
  • Manage vendor relationships and purchasing needs


Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
  • Verify required certifications and training are current
  • Maintain records, logs, and documentation
  • Prepare for inspections and audits


Community Engagement & Growth

  • Support marketing and promotional efforts
  • Manage online reviews and guest feedback
  • Promote special events and community involvement
  • Build partnerships that strengthen the business and its mission
  • Help grow sales while expanding vocational opportunities


Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant, coffee shop, hospitality, or retail management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience training and developing employees
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for customer service and community involvement
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus but not required
