Job Overview

As a Pastry Commis, you will assist in the preparation and production of all pastry items, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in line with Palm House standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in a professional kitchen, with hands-on training and guidance from experienced pastry chefs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of desserts, pastries, breads, and other baked goods.

  • Follow recipes and instructions from senior pastry team members accurately.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of pastry section and storage areas.

  • Ensure mise en place is completed ahead of service.

  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Pastry Chef.

  • Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and allergen protocols at all times.

  • Support the team in maintaining high kitchen standards and smooth service.

  • Participate in daily prep, service, and occasional menu tastings or development.


Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred, ideally in a pastry or bakery role.

  • Passion for pastry, baking, and dessert presentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

  • Good time management and team collaboration skills.
