BASIC DESCRIPTION OF JOB
The Architectural Representative is responsible for building the Pella brand among trade amp; commercial architects as their premier choice for window and door solutions. Identifies and develops new opportunities to hand off to Trade amp; Commercial Sales Managers. Provides well-rounded solutions, market expertise, and partnership by understanding customer needs and developing relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, architects, professional remodelers, and trade organizations. Proactively originates new customer relationships through networking, referrals, and face-to-face meetings.
The Architectural Representative’s primary duty is developing relationships with architects, designers, and industry professionals while identifying opportunities to transfer to the segment manager. The Architectural Representative is required to:
- Spend 70% or more of their workweek at customer locations developing accounts.
- Manage their schedule to effectively meet customer and business needs.
GENERAL DUTIES
- Identify and develop a focused target list of architects to accelerate Trade amp; Commercial sales teams’ quoting activity.
- Identify and target specific events and evaluate PPKC’s participation in events with Manager.
- Effectively communicate our value proposition, tell the Pella Story, along with why and how Pella will positively impact their business.
- Develop understanding of, document, and communicate on architectural activities.
- Support product presentations, lunch-and-learn programs, and educational events.
- Assist with project tracking from early design stages through construction.
- Provide product information, technical details, and specification support.
- Read and interpret architectural drawings and understand project plans.
- Exercise a passionate, relentless prospecting mindset.
- Actively represent Pella at company sponsored events, professional group invitations to discuss and/or present Pella products, trade association meetings and/or builder home shows.
- Develop effective transition to Trade amp; Commercial Sales Manager, thanking clients, and encouraging a continuing professional relationship and reference point of contact with Pella.
- Build relationships with existing and prospective architects through a consultative sale process and timely professional follow-up.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, as business needs require.
