Job description

Qualis LLC is seeking a full-time Communications Systems for Exercise and Training Events Support Team Member to support USSTRATCOM collective training, exercise execution, and operational communications activities. This position requires experience supporting communications systems operations and conferencing activities associated with command center, battle staff, and operational environments. The Communications Systems Support Team Member shall support operation of audio, video, video teleconference, and data communications systems/equipment in support of exercise and training objectives. The position requires operational communications experience supporting USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center (GOC), Airborne Command Post (ABNCP), National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC), and/or other National or MAJCOM-level operations centers. This position is contingent upon contract award.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

At a minimum, the ideal candidate will meet the following experience requirements (candidates that exceed these requirements are strongly preferred):

  • Minimum 10 years of experience demonstrating a thorough understanding of communications systems operations and conferencing activities. 
  • Minimum 5 years of communications expertise obtained from duties performed for one or more of the following missions: USSTRATCOM Global Operations Center (GOC), Airborne Command Post (ABNCP), or National Airborne Operations Center (NAOC). 
  • Demonstrated detailed experience operating audio, video, video teleconference, and data communications systems/equipment. 
  • Minimum 4 years of experience operating one or more of the following systems/equipment types: Secure and Non-Secure Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), Audio Recorder, Enhanced Communications Console (ECC), AMX Video Display Unit, PLANAR Video Wall, Digital Integrated Communications Electronic System (DICES) thin client audio controller, Distributive Continuity Integrated Network-TS (GOLD), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) terminals, STRATCOM Training and Enterprise Network (STEN), Nuclear Planning and Execution System (NPES), and/or Joint Integrated Missile Defense; Missile Warning Training System (JIMDTS).
  • Experience supporting communications operations within command centers, operations centers, or battle staff environments.
  • Experience supporting collective training, exercise execution, or operational support activities.


SUPERVISION: This position may coordinate with Government personnel, operations center personnel, communications support teams, exercise planners, and operational stakeholders in support of training and exercise activities.

SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE: Microsoft Office Suite and standard operational planning and collaboration tools. Secure and Non-Secure Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), Audio Recorder, Enhanced Communications Console (ECC), AMX Video Display Unit, PLANAR Video Wall, Digital Integrated Communications Electronic System (DICES) thin client audio controller, Distributive Continuity Integrated Network-TS (GOLD), Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) terminals, STRATCOM Training and Enterprise Network (STEN), Nuclear Planning and Execution System (NPES), Joint Integrated Missile Defense; Missile Warning Training System (JIMDTS), Microsoft Office Suite, and standard collaboration tools.


LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret operational guidance, exercise planning documents, operational orders, and Joint doctrine publications. Ability to write reports, briefing materials, and operational support documentation in support of exercise planning and execution activities.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply analytical and operational reasoning techniques in support of exercise planning and operational coordination activities.


REASONING ABILITY: Ability to analyze operational requirements, support Joint exercise planning activities, and coordinate with multiple organizations in support of training objectives and operational requirements.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Domestic temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required in support of planning conferences, meetings, and exercise activities.


SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Final Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required
     Must comply with all USSTRATCOM and Department of Defense security requirements
     Must be able to work within classified operational environments and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee may be required to work extended hours during exercises, crisis response operations, and short-notice production deadlines. Specific vision abilities required include close vision for detailed intelligence analysis. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs periodically.


WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in secure government facilities supporting USSTRATCOM missions, exercises, and training activities. Position may require support during exercise execution periods and operational planning events.
