Job Description
CALIBRE is an employee-owned mission focused solutions and digital transformation company. CALIBRE is seeking a MCTP Workstation Controller (PTOC) to support the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP).
Workstation Controllers play a critical role in supporting Warfighter Exercises (WFX) by helping create realistic training environments for Army units. In this role, you will train, coach, and supervise work and response cell personnel responsible for replicating subordinate, adjacent, and higher headquarters units during exercises.
You will help ensure realistic simulation environments using platforms such as Warfighter Simulation (WARSIM) and Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability (JLCCTC) while supporting the development and execution of operational plans aligned with current Army doctrine.
This role works closely with exercise control teams, observer coach/trainers (OC/Ts), and operational planners to deliver high-quality training events that prepare commanders and staffs to operate effectively in complex operational environments.
This position requires extensive travel (up to 100%) in support of training exercises and mission events.
Responsibilities include:
  • Train and supervise rotational unit personnel replicating command structures during Warfighter Exercises.
  • Instruct work and response cell personnel on WARSIM Battle Space Workstation (BSWS) and JLCCTC platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance on Army Mission Command Systems, including Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE) and Command Post of the Future (CPOF).
  • Support Exercise Control and database teams in developing system files for training events.
  • Collaborate with Observer Controller/Trainers (OC/Ts) and S-33 staff to execute unit training events and assist in operational planning.
  • Conduct database reviews and simulation platform testing prior to Warfighter Exercises.
  • Develop and deliver lesson plans for JLCCTC instruction.
  • Oversee work cell operations during exercises to ensure realistic simulation of battlefield environments.
  • Generate Work Cell reports to support After Action Reviews (AARs).
  • Identify and implement workarounds for simulation functionality gaps.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve simulation anomalies and escalate issues through Senior Control when required.
  • Provide detailed feedback and contribute to contractor exercise AARs.

Required Skills
  • Strong understanding of Army operations, mission command, and warfighting functions.
  • Experience operating or supporting simulation platforms such as WARSIM, JLCCTC, or similar training systems.
  • Ability to train and mentor personnel in operational simulation environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with exercise control teams, operational planners, and training staff.
  • Familiarity with Army and Joint doctrine, regulations, and publications related to training and operations.

Required Experience
  • Completion of Intermediate Level Education (ILE/MEL4) or Sergeants Major Course (or equivalent).
  • Former field grade officer, senior warrant officer, or senior noncommissioned officer. Highly desirable candidates include retired Lieutenant Colonels (O-5), Chief Warrant Officers (W-4/W-5), or Sergeants Major (E-9).
  • Experience serving in a key developmental position at the battalion or brigade level.
  • Demonstrated tactical and technical proficiency within a Warfighting Function (WfF).
  • Experience supporting military training exercises or operational planning environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • War College (MEL1) graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience serving on Division or Corps-level staff.
  • Master's degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Clearance Requirement
  • U.S. Citizenship required and must have an active Secret clearance.
  • Applicants may also be required to meet Public Trust eligibility requirements in support of the government customer.
