Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified General Neurologist to join the Department of Cognitive & Behavioral Neurosciences within the SMG Neuroscience Service Line in Sacramento, California
We welcome applicants from the following backgrounds:
  • Neurologists with Fellowship training/experience in cognitive & behavioral neurology, memory, headache, movement,neuromuscular.

Academic, Research & Technology Opportunities
• Graduate Medical Education: Participate in teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship for the emerging Neurology Residency Program, along with other learners.
• Research & Innovation: Candidates with an academic or research interest in dementia, neurodegeneration, biomarkers, outcomes, or health-services research are especially encouraged to apply (interest preferred but not required). Opportunities exist to collaborate on novel therapies and delivery platforms, including focused ultrasound and blood-brain barrier modulation for targeted drug delivery as this work matures within the Neuroscience Service Line.
• Technology & Digital Care: Partner with the Neuroscience Service Line to leverage technology and mobile devices for cognitive screening, remote monitoring, caregiver support, and data-informed care pathways.
Leadership Pathway
• For interested and qualified candidates, there is a pathway to future consideration for the role of Department Chair for Cognitive & Behavioral Neurosciences, with responsibilities in program vision, faculty recruitment, and strategic development across the Neuroscience Service Line.

• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Neurology
• Eligibility for California medical licensure
• Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, patient- and family-centered care for individuals with cognitive disorders
Preferred Attributes
• Interest in program-building, recruitment, and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Experience with or enthusiasm for disease-modifying therapies and infusion-based treatment
• Comfort with technology-enabled care, including EMR-based workflows, telehealth, and mobile cognitive screening tools
• Prior leadership, educational, or research experience/interest, is a plus
