Job description

Description SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The candidate should be a self-starter and be able to operate with minimal supervision. The candidate must have a willingness to learn. The candidate must be flexible and work well with other team members. The candidate must be willing to travel CONUS/OCONUS with short notification times to support the Warfighter. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required as well. Daily duties will be conducted at S3I in Huntsville, AL. Duties and Responsibilities: * Support the Missile Defense Agency with the Deployment, Testing, Integration and Upgrading of the THAAD missile system equipment pieces of the Tactical Operations Station (TOS) and Launch Control System (LCS).
* Follow detailed test procedures in a fast-paced field environment. * Travel to various location specified by the Missile Defense Agency in support of THAAD operations and testing.
* Deploy and provide support for various Tactical Communications systems. Qualifications Education Requirements: * Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years' relevant experience; Additional six (6) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree (per contract vehicle).
Clearance Requirements: * Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills: * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Good interpersonal skills.
* Deep understanding of Tactical Communications Systems and/or Tactical Networking. * The ability to support mission requirements during evenings and weekends as scheduled.
* Must be physically fit with an ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds with little to no assistance.
* Must have experience integrating and deploying LOS and SATCOM related systems in one or more of the following: SMART-T, SNAP, CPN, and JNN.
* Ability to create and edit configurations for CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls as it pertains to current and future network infrastructure.
* Must be able to obtain/maintain a US Passport.
Desired Skills: * A working knowledge of Link-16 Data protocols.
* Ability to research, test and understand communication equipment and provided organized thoughts and suggestions in reference to that equipment in a concise and understandable manner.
* Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
