By maintaining the safety, security and usability of our buildings, resources and grounds, our Facility Technicians eliminate disruptions to our weekend experience and our weekly ministries, allowing people to build a closer relationship with Jesus and each other.

The Facilities Technician I plays a key role in helping create safe, welcoming, and distraction-free environments where people can discover Jesus and the Journey. Through excellence in facility care, event support, campus readiness, and behind-the-scenes ministry operations, this role helps support the mission and ministry of The Crossing by creating environments where people can gather, grow in community, and engage in life-changing ministry experiences.

This position plays an important role in helping the church accomplish its mission by fostering and engaging in Godly relationships among congregants, volunteers, staff, ministry leaders, and internal ministry teams. This role is ideal for a dependable, hardworking, and servant-hearted individual who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, operational support, and helping others succeed behind the scenes. The person in this role will bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, adaptability, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence in both ministry environments and daily responsibilities. What You'll Be Doing
Event Support & Ministry Operations
  • Utilize web-based event scheduling tools and reports to facilitate timely and accurate event setup and teardown
  • Assist with room setups, table/chair arrangements, equipment movement, and ministry resource preparation
  • Provide facilities support to church attendees, volunteers, ministry leaders, and staff in a timely and service-oriented manner
  • Support ministry events and weekend services through setup, troubleshooting, coordination, and operational assistance
  • Respond to schedules, assignments, and priorities provided by Facilities leadership
  • Actively contribute to a culture of teamwork, communication, and continual process improvement
Facility Maintenance & Campus Care
  • Help maintain the safety, security, cleanliness, and usability of buildings, grounds, equipment, and ministry environments
  • Perform recurring custodial, maintenance, landscaping, and operational support tasks as assigned
  • Assist with basic maintenance and repair projects including minor repairs, equipment upkeep, furniture assembly, and facility adjustments
  • Maintain inventory and assist in servicing Facilities-managed rooms, equipment, tools, and consumable supplies
  • Help ensure campus environments remain clean, organized, safe, and guest-ready throughout the week
Facilities Support & Volunteer Assistance
  • Support and assist Facilities volunteers and approved community service workers as assigned
  • Help create a positive and collaborative working environment for volunteers and ministry teams
  • Assist with operational coordination during ministry events and weekend environments as needed
Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with ministries, campuses, and Central teams to support churchwide ministry initiatives
  • Contribute to churchwide events and ministry efforts as needed
  • Help foster a healthy, collaborative, and mission-driven staff culture
  • Provide support and problem-solving in fast-paced and evolving ministry environments
  • Perform other ministry-related responsibilities as assigned in support of the mission, vision, and values of The Crossing
Accommodating Work Shifts and Scheduling
  • Shifts, work schedules, weekend hours, and campus assignments will be discussed during the interview process and confirmed upon hire
  • Typical campus operating hours are between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM
  • Adjusted shifts, weekend availability, evenings, holidays, and additional hours may occasionally be required to support ministry operations, events, and meetings

What You'll Bring To The Team
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in a church, nonprofit, school, hospitality, or event environment preferred
  • Preferred Experience: One year of experience in facilities, maintenance, custodial, operations, event support, construction, landscaping, or a related environment
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency
  • Ability to effectively use Gmail, Google Workspace, scheduling tools, messaging apps, and related technology
  • Strong verbal, phone, email, and radio communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrate basic repair, maintenance, hand tool, power tool, and equipment operation skills
  • Ability to perform tasks such as changing light bulbs, assembling furniture, tightening fixtures, moving equipment, and operating maintenance tools
  • Ability to safely operate basic facilities equipment and tools
  • Understanding of basic building safety, security, custodial, and operational procedures preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Routine lifting and moving up to 50 pounds
  • Occasional team lifting and moving up to 200 pounds
  • Ability to follow safe operating and personal protection practices
