Social Media Coordinator

Reports to: Social Media Lead

Location: Central Office

Summary of Role

The Social Media Coordinator supports the daily execution of Celebration Church's social media strategy by creating and managing engaging, on-brand content across platforms. Working closely with the Social Media Lead, this role is responsible for content creation, post scheduling, community engagement, and supporting the development of the Social Media Dream Team (volunteers).

Position Status & Schedule

  • Non-Exempt, Hourly
  • Full-time (40 hours)
  • Sunday through Thursday: 9am - 5pm; may include evenings and weekends.
  • Christmas, Easter, and Dream Team Appreciation service dates are black-out days for time off. Major conferences may also be considered essential workdays. Other events may be required outside of your regular schedule; you will be informed in advance of any of these requirements.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Content Creation & Execution

  • Assist in content creation (photos, videos, graphics, and captions) for assigned Celebration Church accounts.
  • Monitor and leverage emerging trends on platforms like Instagram and TikTok, creating engaging, on-brand content that drives audience engagement.
  • Manage and maintain content calendars, scheduling posts for Celebration Church, WAVE Students, Young Adults, and other ministries as needed.
  • Help capture live content during church services and major events.
  • Design and edit graphics, videos, and social media assets using relevant tools.

Engagement & Community Building

  • Actively monitor and respond to social media interactions, ensuring timely and meaningful engagement.
  • Encourage organic community growth by engaging with comments, stories, and messages.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining a consistent brand voice across all platforms.

Dream Team Volunteer Development

  • Identify, recruit, train, and manage Social Media Dream Team volunteers to support posting, engagement, and content creation.
  • Schedule volunteers to capture Sunday and event content.
  • Provide creative direction and feedback to volunteers to ensure high-quality deliverables.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track and report on performance metrics across platforms, assisting in strategy adjustments.
  • Identify trends in engagement and content performance.

Contributes to the overall success of Celebration Church by performing all other duties as needed

  • Experience working with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social).
  • Familiarity with content scheduling tools, analytics platforms, and social trends
  • Desire to resource, train, and professionally develop others
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends and selected events

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in social media marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts across different social platforms.
  • Experience building volunteer or staff teams.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
  • Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office and Church facility.
  • Must be able to position self to maintain supplies and equipment on lower shelves and in closets.
  • Frequently move supplies and equipment weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Constantly work in open office environment
  • Ability to work outside in various climates and temperatures
