Position: Kids Pastor
Location: Santa Rosa Campus
Reports to: Lead Campus Pastor
FLSA Status: Exempt, Ministerial Exception
Job Status: Full-time
The Kids Pastor provides vision, leadership, and pastoral oversight for Bayside Kids (Birth-5th Grade), creating a dynamic, safe, engaging, and spiritually formative environment where children and families can encounter Jesus and grow in their faith. This role champions the discipleship of the next generation by building strong volunteer teams, developing leaders, partnering with parents, and aligning Kids Ministry with the overall vision, culture, and direction of Bayside Church.
Responsibilities
  • Cast, communicate, and implement the vision and strategy for Bayside Kids in alignment with the overall mission and direction of Bayside Church.
  • Build, develop, lead, and empower thriving volunteer and volunteer leader teams across all areas of Kids Ministry.
  • Partner with parents and caregivers as the primary spiritual influence in a child's life by providing support, communication, and discipleship resources.
  • Manage, develop, and train all Kids Ministry staff, including Child Care (CMP), Special Needs, Nursery, 1st-5th, and Special Events teams.
  • Ensure Kids Ministry environments operate with excellence, safety, consistency, and adherence to church policies and procedures.
  • Work with Kids Ministry Teams to offer creative, fun, and age-appropriate program options for weekend services, midweek services, and special events, including Children's Ministry-Provided Childcare (CMP).
  • Select and/or develop curriculum and age-appropriate learning objectives for all programs.
  • Work with other ministry departments to create attractive outreach and mid-week opportunities.
  • Oversee the annual kids camp, Breakaway, for the campus.
  • Develop annual goals and budgets for Kids Ministry programs with input from Kids Ministry Staff that support church-wide goals and manage each activity to stay within budget.
  • Work with the Lead Campus Pastor to create an attractive and fun physical environment.

  • Proactively communicate, support, and champion the mission, vision, values, and culture of Bayside Church.
  • Build and lead healthy volunteer and staff teams that collectively accomplish the same.
  • Maintain open, healthy, and consistent communication with supervisors, staff, volunteers, and ministry partners.
  • Uphold Bayside's Core Values, Staff Culture & Values, Vision Statement, and Points of Accountability.

Other Duties
  • Attend campus, team and All-Staff All-Campus meetings.
