This position is based at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center in Norwood, MA. The property is owned by Hobbs Brook Real Estate LLC, the real estate division of FM, offering a dynamic hospitality environment with strong organizational support. 

The Four Points by Sheraton Norwood Hotel & Conference Center features 230 modern, smoke-free guestrooms, including allergy-friendly options, along with complimentary Wi-Fi, parking, and access to the fitness center and indoor pool. With 28 meeting rooms and 40,000 square feet of event space, the hotel is well-suited for meetings and conferences of all sizes, and the Tiffany Ballroom to cater social events. Summary 

Join our team and help keep the hotel running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. As a Facilities Engineer, you’ll handle day-to-day maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas—ensuring everything is functional and guest-ready.

You’ll work closely with the Chief Engineer and facilities team to complete repairs, perform preventive maintenance, and respond quickly to service needs.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public areas, and building systems
  • Respond to service requests promptly with a guest-first mindset
  • Complete preventive maintenance for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete minor repairs (fixtures, doors, painting, basic carpentry)
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to identify and resolve maintenance needs
  • Support room readiness by ensuring all systems are working properly
  • Assist with vendor work and on-site projects as needed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and organized work areas
  • Track and complete work orders accurately
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and support a 24/7 hotel operation (including weekends and holidays)

Additional Support Duties

  • Assist with pool maintenance (testing, logging, chemicals, and cleaning; training available for CPO certification)
  • Support grounds upkeep, including snow removal, painting, power washing, and basic landscaping
  • Move furniture and equipment as needed
  • Follow all safety standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:

5+ years of maintenance or facilities engineer experience (hotel or commercial preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, work order systems (for tracking service requests and reporting) and Building Management Systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with general building equipment
  • Practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues across building systems
  • Experience performing hands-on repairs using power tools
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-first mindset
  • Comfortable working with a wide range of guests, team members, and vendors

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to work at heights (ladders/scaffolding) and safely operate tools/equipment commonly used in facilities maintenance. 
  • Ability to wear required PPE (e.g., respirator, gloves, eye and hearing protection). 

Education & Licenses

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Safety training (OSHA or similar) is a plus
  • Licensed in Massachusetts for one of the following, HVAC, Electrical, and or plumbing preferred

The hiring range for this position is $30.88 to $38.61 per hour. Final offers are based on factors such as geographic location, education, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for FM’s Total Rewards program, including an incentive plan, health and well-being programs, 401(k) and pension, career development and tuition reimbursement, and time off.
