Concrete Paving Cement Mason/Finisher

Southwest Concrete Paving is an established concrete paving company specializing in military airfield construction across the western United States. The Concrete Paving Cement Mason/Finisher is responsible for all aspects of finishing concrete pavement, utilizing both slip-formed and hand-placed methods. This role encompasses all essential paving tasks, including setup, embedding, patching, and curing. Working as part of a collaborative jobsite team, you will gain comprehensive experience across all facets of concrete paving.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Direct the organized placement of concrete to proper elevations
  • Take flat work pour from prep to completion
  • Install forms for placing concrete pavement
  • Assist in establishing grades for slopes, flatness and ADA requirements
  • Direct pours and finish edges of a concrete slab pour
  • Hand finish edges, pipes, drains and other obstacles in flatwork pours
  • Install subgrade and place concrete using grade nails, stakes and rails per job specification
  • Use Levels: site, laser, transit etc. to set grades on flatwork
  • Place and finish concrete of any type; Trowel, Broom, Exposed
  • Patch and finish any type of repair work
  • Perform other duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel up to 100%
  • Must be available to work all shifts including days, nights, and/or weekends
  • Must be able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery; bend, walk, stand and sit for extended time; and use hand tools
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing 80 lb. or more on a regular basis
  • Ability to pull a screed board (single, two-man, vibra-screed)
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (preferred)

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 to 4 years of industry experience
  • Slip Form Paving experience is preferred
  • Experience using a bull float and finish broom

In addition to a competitive salary of $35.00 per hour, Davis Bacon Rates apply on participating projects.
