Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager with a CA RN license for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring 2 years of case management experience and Epic proficiency.
Job Details
• Acute hospital Case Management department,
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM,
• Patient ratio of 1:20,
• Weekend requirement of 2 weekends every 6 weeks,
• No on-call responsibilities,
• Floating required between like units and sister facilities based on need,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Local candidates accepted at applicable bill rate,
Job Requirements
• Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of submission),
• Current BLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital Case Manager experience required,
• Experience performing care coordination and discharge planning in a fast-paced environment required,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Previous travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be screened with clinical approval,
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, which may include Charge RNs or Leads,
• Full SSN and DOB required for submission,
Additional Information
• Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment, and utilization review,
• May involve determining medical necessity using evidence-based guidelines and InterQual criteria,
• Familiarity with CMS, DRG, HIPAA, ICD-10, and Joint Commission/Core Measure standards is beneficial,
• Free parking provided,
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day),
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as post-submission requests may not be accommodated,
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility,
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles,
• First-time travelers may be considered pending clinical approval
