Job description

Responsibilities/Requirements:
To specialize in the operation of a Packaging or Production Line and all conditions necessary to maintain quality in the line in accordance with Product Specifications. To ensure a clean, safe and orderly Line and to properly position and relieve line personnel assigned to the specific line.
  • Ensure the orderly condition and operation of a Production Line/Packaging Line.
  • Maintain work area in a sanitary, inspection ready condition.
  • Monitor and adjust all equipment in a designated area, according to specific process controls.
  • Complete all process control check-sheets as required.
  • Review the daily product schedule and plan the operation and positions of the Production/Packaging line accordingly.
  • Enforce Safety Program with all line personnel.
  • Ensure that all machines are properly set up and in good working order.
  • Proper set-up for the conveyor systems.
  • Proper set-up of the Make-up stations and proofer/ovens, time, temperature and steam controls, according to process controls.
  • Ensure the availability of the required packaging materials according to daily product schedule (Cartons, packaging, Closures, Coding, etc.)
  • Ensure proper product specifications: specified packaging material, pieces per package, proper closures, proper code information, proper carton and specified number of units per tray or box, packages arranged with tails facing inward.
  • Ensure that Production Line is running at proper speed for product to be packaged
  • Determine damaged product and properly weigh and record dismissed items.
  • Complete all QA forms regarding Product Specifications and Metal Detector checks within proper periods.
  • Continuously monitor for correct code dates and color codes, good seals, tight packages, Q-Bake and even slice.
