Job description

A dynamic opportunity is available for a Psychiatry Physician seeking locum tenens work in a multi-faceted healthcare environment. This role is essential to providing psychiatric care across an inpatient adult unit as well as an outpatient clinic that cares for school-aged children and adults. This position offers both clinical and call responsibilities, including weekend call coverage every 6 weeks and covering two weeks per month.

Key Details- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens- Setting: Outpatient Clinic / Hospital- Start Date: ASAP- Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM with night call from 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM; weekend call from Friday 4:00 PM – Sunday 4:00 PM- Patient Population: All Ages- Location: Duluth, MN- Stipends: Housing and travel options can be discussed for non-local candidates

Job Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in an inpatient unit and outpatient clinic setting.- Manage up to 18 patient encounters per day.- Availability to perform ECT Services and work with TMS.- Participate in night and weekend call duties, including rounding and handling new admissions.

Qualifications- Board Certified in Psychiatry- BLS Certification required- Preference for familiarity with involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, and restraint application.

Working Hours- Primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM- Night call from 4:00 PM – 8:00 AM- Weekend call includes Friday 4:00 PM to Sunday 4:00 PM (1-2 weekends every 6 weeks)

Skills- Proficiency in treating anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADD/ADHD, personality disorders, and psychotic disorders.- Comfort with acute psychiatric unit settings.- Preferred proficiency with treatment techniques, including ECT.
