Job description

PreOperative Registered Nurse (RN) $10,000 Sign On Bonus!*
As a PreOp RN you will assist with high acuity patients and enjoy the support of an awesome team! Our PreOp at Baxter Regional Medical Center consists of 11 beds. The Registered Nurses (RNs) on our team help to prepare a wide variety of patients from pediatric to geriatric for surgery. Our cases include General Surgery, Orthopedics, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Plastics, Ear Nose Throat (ENT), Urology and Gynecological (GYN) procedures. Patient acuity is from basic care to intensive care. Our unit follows ASPAN and Hospital Standards. We do require call but you will have most weekends and holidays off. We use self, on-call scheduling. Come shadow and see if the PreOp Unit is a nursing career fit for you.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care for assigned patients on the Pre-Operative unit and participating as a member of the nursing team.
  • Responsible for the care given to the patient and for the decision regarding which nursing tasks can be safely delegated to licensed and unlicensed persons involved in patient care.
  • Must be proficient in a wide variety of high level nursing skills and responsible for adhering to all standards of nursing care and promoting a team effort among coworkers.
  • Assesses, plans, implements and coordinates patient care from admission to discharge.
  • Dedicated to exceeding the expectations of our patients while meeting their individualized health and perioperative needs in collaboration with our physicians and facility administrative procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities, best practice initiatives, and education offerings to ensure that they are on the cutting edge of the latest innovations in perioperative care.
  • Collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidence based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

Job Requirements:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. ADN required. BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Licensure: Current Arkansas or Compact State RN License in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year acute care nursing experience.
  • Certifications: BLS required. ACLS required or within three (3) months from date of hire. PALS required or within six (6) months from date of hire.

Pre-Op Days/ 8 Hour Shifts; 5:45am - 2:15 pm OR 12 Hour Shifts; 5:45am - 6:15pm
Call required: 2 to 4 call days per month and apporximately every 10th weekend
Call during the week is from the end of your shift until 10:30 PM
Weekend Call is from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Saturday and Sunday
