Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of experience in food production maintenance, a strong understanding of Cal OSHA regulations, and a keen attention to detail. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on food production equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
  • Follow preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Troubleshoot and repair boilers, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial steam cooking equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with Cal OSHA safety regulations, food safety guidelines, and company policies.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track maintenance activities, work orders, and inventory.
  • Oversee contractors on site when professional repairs are needed.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, document findings, and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to 5S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) principles.
  • Test functionality of facility safety systems.
  • Fabricate new equipment as necessary

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of Cal OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
  • Experience with HMI, boilers, PLCs, VFDs, and industrial steam cooking equipment (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy, including experience with CMMS, Microsoft Office, and automation systems. Experience in Deacom a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • PPE: Steel-toed slip resistant leather boots and lift belt required
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and food processing equipment.
  • Availability for on-call, weekends, and overtime as needed.
