This opening is for a Hardware/Software Integration and Test Engineer for the NASA Orion Vehicle Program supporting Orion Software Integrated Product Team (IPT).
The core responsibility for this role will be to conduct complex mission and function testing of the most advanced spacecraft ever built. Team members will leverage development tools and environments to push the software to the bounds of operations to drive out issues ensuring crew safety and mission success. Team members will be able to operate multiple Orion Test Labs for testing, running scripts in a simulated environment, before moving into higher fidelity labs to test with hardware in the loop and run mission specific test scenarios. Team members on the integration team are highly critical to the successful delivery of formal software builds and must have a go-getter attitude and be able to run issues to ground across multiple hardware, software, test and development teams.
Familiarity with both Linux and Windows systems is a must. Familiarity with the software development cycle and good coding standards is highly desired. Familiarity with real time embedded programming, and model driven development is a plus. Background in Agile methodologies is desired.
Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to details required to delivery flight ready products, and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment. In this role, you will be working in the development and test of software in a collaborative team environment.
This role will require some shift work in the evenings or weekends at times, but has general flexibility in fulfilling the 40-hour work week (e.g. working second shift excuses you from normal business day hours). Full time on-site work is required, but some of this role is able to be performed remotely, and flexibility for some remote work is acceptable upon coordination with management.
