Structures

• Perform structural repairs and modifications on aircraft, components, and assemblies.
• Fabricate sheet metal parts and assemblies using approved technical data.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
• Perform drilling, riveting, cutting, forming, bonding, and fastening operations.
• Conduct inspections for corrosion, cracks, damage, and structural defects.
• Use precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure conformity to specifications.

Helicopter Mechanic

• Perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance to ensure aircraft airworthiness on all systems including: (e.g., Airframe, avionics, flight controls, troubleshooting systems, inspections).
• Conducting regular and methodical inspections on all the helicopters in our hangars, according to inspection regulations.
• Using the appropriate instruments, tools, and software programs to measure performance and make repairs.
• Keeping detailed maintenance logs and reports.

Avionics Technician

• Installing and testing complex avionics equipment and electrical systems on aircraft.
• Ensuring that all avionics equipment works properly before take-off and that it does not interfere with any other electronic device.
• Removing, repairing, and re-installing any problematic avionics equipment before an aircraft is cleared for take-off.
• Assembling and installing electrical components.
• Providing accurate diagnoses of difficult avionics problems.

Education and Experience

• Experience in aircraft structures, helicopter maintenance, avionics, or general aircraft maintenance is required.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred for maintenance positions; equivalent military or civilian aviation maintenance experience will also be considered where applicable.
• Previous helicopter or rotorcraft maintenance experience is a plus, but not required. Candidates with fixed-wing aviation maintenance experience who are eager to learn are encouraged to apply.
• Must be able to pass any required background screening and drug testing.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle and feel, reach with hands and arms.
• Able to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl up to 30% of the time.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to see to perform work and to see approaching vehicles, aircraft, and machinery.

QAI (Quality Aviation Instruments) is an aviation business that has two separate companies spread across three locations in the Pittsburgh Area.

Our headquarters QAI Aerospace is an FAA and EASA certified repair station with aircraft instruments, limited avionics, and accessories ratings. QAI Aerospace specializes in the repair of aircraft instruments, avionics, and accessories. The company was founded in 1997 and is located at 903 McKee Rd., White Oak, PA 15131.

QAI also has a sister company (QAI Aviation) which operates out of both the Allegheny County and Rostraver Airport. QAI Aviation is an FAA certified repair station that has the capabilities to complete avionics installations, upgrades, maintenance and repairs for both fixed wing and rotor wing aircrafts.
