Aviation Support Mechanic (ASM)

ASP is seeking an Aviation Support Mechanic (ASM) to join our team in Albertville, Alabama. This position supports maintenance operations on a variety of aircraft and components while working alongside experienced maintenance professionals to deliver safe, high-quality aircraft maintenance services.

Previous military aviation experience is highly valued, and experience working on UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters is a strong plus.


Job Duties & Responsibilities

As an Aviation Support Mechanic, you will:

  • Perform aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and safety standards.
  • Assist with scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance.
  • Conduct inspections to identify damage, defects, corrosion, or excessive wear.
  • Remove, install, repair, and modify aircraft structures, components, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical discrepancies.
  • Read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical drawings, engineering orders, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform aircraft servicing and functional operational checks.
  • Document all maintenance performed in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Use proper tooling, equipment, and maintenance practices.
  • Work effectively with maintenance teams to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and actively promote a safety-first culture.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and participate in random testing.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Military aviation maintenance experience.
  • UH-60 Black Hawk maintenance experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with rotary-wing aircraft maintenance.
  • A&P License (preferred but not required).
  • Formal aviation maintenance training or military technical school.
  • Experience interpreting technical manuals and maintenance documentation.
  • Avionics or electrical troubleshooting experience is a plus.
  • Sheet metal, structures, composites, or powerplant experience is a plus.
