What kinds of projects or responsibilities can a Weekend Architect expect to handle during weekend hours?

Weekend Architects often focus on project tasks such as drafting plans, creating design presentations, meeting with clients who are only available outside standard business hours, and collaborating remotely with project teams. These responsibilities may include revising construction documents, addressing last-minute design changes, or preparing deliverables for upcoming deadlines. Working weekends can provide unique flexibility and the chance to support boutique firms, consulting roles, or clients with urgent needs. This structure is well-suited for experienced professionals seeking part-time engagement, freelancers, or those balancing other weekday commitments.

To thrive as a Weekend Architect, you need strong architectural design skills, proficiency in building codes, and typically a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture along with licensure. Familiarity with CAD/BIM software (such as AutoCAD or Revit), and project management tools are commonly required. Excellent time management, communication, and client-relations skills set top candidates apart, especially when juggling condensed project timelines. These skills ensure you can efficiently deliver high-quality architectural solutions and collaborate effectively, even when focusing your efforts on weekends.

Architects often work on weekends to meet project deadlines, especially during critical phases of design or construction. However, their regular work schedule typically follows standard weekday hours, with weekend work being optional or project-dependent. Flexibility varies based on firm policies and individual workload.

What is a Weekend Architect job?

A Weekend Architect is a professional who works primarily on weekends to design, plan, and oversee architectural projects. This role is ideal for those who have weekday commitments but want to contribute their expertise on a part-time basis. Weekend Architects may be involved in drafting blueprints, consulting with clients, or coordinating with project teams. Their focus is often on smaller projects, renovations, or design consulting. This job allows flexibility while still leveraging architectural skills.

Job description

Project Architect - Dallas, TX

Project Architect opportunities in Dallas do not come around often with this combination of technical depth, project ownership, and long-term career potential. This is a strong opportunity for a Project Architect to take on meaningful work across industrial, warehouse, and other technically complex building types while contributing to a collaborative architectural team in Dallas.

If you are a registered architect who enjoys solving technical challenges, leading documentation efforts, and helping deliver well-coordinated projects, this Project Architect role in Dallas could be the right next move.

Job Description

Step into a key role where your architectural expertise directly supports complex projects that demand precision, coordination, and technical excellence. As a Project Architect, you will help lead projects from design development through construction documents and construction administration, bringing clarity, organization, and confidence to every phase.

This role is ideal for a licensed architect with strong experience in industrial, warehouse, or other technical project types. You will work closely with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure projects move forward efficiently and that design intent is carried through with quality and consistency.

  • Lead the architectural development and technical execution of projects from design development through completion
  • Prepare, organize, and oversee high-quality drawing sets, specifications, and construction documentation
  • Coordinate with engineering consultants, clients, contractors, and internal project teams
  • Guide technical design decisions, code review, detailing, and constructability discussions
  • Support project schedules, deliverables, and communication across multiple project phases
  • Participate in consultant coordination, QA/QC review, and document consistency efforts
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and contribute during bidding and construction administration
  • Help maintain project standards, improve workflows, and support technical delivery best practices
  • Contribute to client meetings and present architectural solutions with professionalism and clarity
  • Balance design intent, schedule, budget, and operational requirements on technically demanding projects

About You as the Project Architect

  • Registered Architect with an active professional license required
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture with progressive responsibility in project delivery
  • Strong experience in industrial, warehouse, or other technical project types
  • Proven ability to produce and coordinate construction documents with a high level of accuracy
  • Solid knowledge of building systems, detailing, permitting processes, and applicable building codes
  • Experience coordinating with consultants and working through technically complex project requirements
  • Proficiency with industry-standard architectural software and documentation tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teams and clients
  • Organized, proactive, and comfortable managing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • A practical mindset with a strong commitment to quality, coordination, and technical excellence

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000, depending on experience, licensure, and overall technical project background. In addition to competitive compensation, this opportunity offers strong long-term growth potential for an architect who wants to expand their impact and leadership within the Dallas market.
