Job description

Purpose:

The Maintenance Planner reviews customer requirements, constructs bid estimates and develops workflow plans and production schedules in coordination with Operations.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Quality and Operations to plan and schedule maintenance and modification/completions work packages based on customer requirements coupled with market competitive timelines with available resources to ensure minimal project span times.
  • Independently compile data, including estimates of labor and materials to create accurate, aggressive, and executable project bids.
  • Adept at determining a projectโ€™s critical path down to the task level and preparing task-by-task and day-by-day workflow packages.
  • Adept at navigating through AMMs, Drawing Packages, AD/SB/SL, IPCs and MPDs. Experience with Boeing and Airbus technical data/refence web portals is desired.
  • Plan and coordinate materials required for projects with Engineering, Purchasing and Logistics to ensure materials can/will be available as planned in a project timeline flow.
  • Plan project workloads and required skills, conduct pre-dock, post-dock, and planning meetings.
  • Research MPDs/customer RFP/Q packages and other OEM/FAA requirements for relevant maintenance task requirements and their inclusion based on Work scope.
  • Assist with completing bid estimates, coordinating with Operations personnel, as well as procurement, potential suppliers and vendors.
  • Enter and manage data within the companyโ€™s Enterprise Resource Planning system, including libraries of canned tasks and materials to be used in current and future bid packages.
  • Support senior management staff with other tasks as required.


Minimum Qualifications or Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) yearsโ€™ experience in aircraft maintenance, completions modification, repair and/or overhaul, including experience in Planning, Scheduling, Documentation and/or Project Management.
  • Highly proficient at researching and deciphering AD, SB, maintenance manuals, task card requirements with correct effectivity codes and accurately estimating labor hours for job tasks.
  • Familiarity with FAR Part 145 repair station, Part 121/135 airline and/or aircraft Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications or Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or commensurate experience in a related field.
  • Project Management certification

Experience on large body Boeing and Airbus aircraft is a plus.

  • FAA mechanic certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


Knowledge, Skills, and Other Attributes:

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Project, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff from various departments.
  • Highly Desired: Prior experience with Corridor aviation maintenance software.
