Campus Catering at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist. This position ensures customer satisfaction through attendance and monitoring of events, refreshment of food and beverage, location cleanup, and timely assistance of on-site catering requests, questions, or concerns.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:
This position will serves as lead worker at all catering events and fills in during the Catering Manager's absence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Assists Catering Manager with time management of employees.
  • Completes the delivery, setup, and breakdown of food and beverage, décor, and other necessary items for catering events, both on campus and at satellite locations.
  • Leads the organization and completion of event orders, to include compiling packing lists.
  • Packs equipment and supplies in a timely and organized manner, and leads team to do the same.
  • Maintains knowledge and trains in proper packing and transport techniques for both hot and cold foods.
  • Operates catering vehicles both on and off campus. Completes temperature logs.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through attendance and monitoring of events, refreshment of food and beverage, location cleanup, and timely assistance of on-site catering requests, questions, or concerns.
  • Ensures cleanliness and organization of catering-related storage areas.
  • Oversees inventory of all related goods, including linen, décor, service ware, and disposable goods on a weekly basis.
  • Coordinates all supply orders with the Catering Manager and ensures consistent stock of all necessary goods.
  • Maintains equipment and coordinates repair with the Catering Manager.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to stand throughout the day and lift a minimum of 35 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Maintains ServSafe certification and ensures up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal foodservice regulations.
  • Must maintain a valid Georgia Driver's license.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and two years administrative experience; or a high school or GED and six years administrative experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
  • Valid GA Driver's License.
  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.
  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.
