Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate preparation of timely financial statements for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, Inc. operations. The Accounting Manager supervises staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that the work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, and the support of budget and forecast activities. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required. A minimum of five (5) years of asset management accounting, supervising and leading staff working directly with governmental/non-profit assets is required. Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred. Knowledge of governmental GAAP and GASB Statement No. 34 reporting requirements is required. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Knowledge of Lawson ERP is preferred. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
