Task Force Director of Finance
As the Task Force Director of Finance with HVMG, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our hotel operations by supporting the on-site accounting training and support of newly transitioned hotels, including support through the first month end closing. This role will support our Hotels and Regional Controller Team by providing additional coverage as needed for open accounting positions across the portfolio and acting as an accounting training resource for new General Managers & Directors of Finance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work with transition team; on-boarding and exit of assets for accounting discipline
  • Lead trainer for General Managers and Property Accounting as it relates to accounting policies, procedures, and systems
  • Serve as financial advisor to property management team when covering open positions
  • Run and/or manage full accounting cycle while assigned to a property (AR, AP, IJ, Payroll, Month End)
  • Resolve accounting issues and train property on proper accounting procedures
  • Identify Risk while on property, Implement corrective actions and training, notify leadership and regional accounting team
  • Assist Regional Controllers with balance sheet reconciliations when needed
  • Re-Training for properties that fail internal audit
  • Other corporate accounting projects as assigned
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university with a degree in business required, preferably in finance or accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 to 7 years of hospitality industry experience in corporate, regional or on-property finance.

  • This position requires up to 80% travel.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and lift as required-with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed

  • Experience with Sage Intacct, ProfitSword Suites, Ottimate, Expensify, Hotel Effectiveness, or similar systems for each functional area.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial statement preparation, accounts payable, payroll, and income audit back-of-house hospitality systems.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and USALI.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
