Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Wheelchair Agent to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will provide essential wheelchair and passenger assistance at busy transportation hubs, ensuring a positive experience for travelers with mobility needs. Your proactive approach and commitment to safety will help keep operations running seamlessly while delivering exceptional customer service.

Schedule: Open availability needed including weekend, holiday, and weekdays.

Pay: $14 hourly

Responsibilities

  • Assist passengers with wheelchair mobility and boarding procedures, ensuring comfort and safety throughout their journey
  • Responsible for assisting our passengers at ticket counters to ensure they are properly checked in.
  • Must be able to read airline tickets, monitors, various domestic and international forms, and airline city codes.
  • Transporting passengers to a connecting flight operated by different carriers
  • Always be professional in appearance and manners to passengers and any other person at the airport
  • Be able to stand, squat, kneel, and walk 70% or more of the scheduled work time
  • Be able to maintain customer service professionalism while under pressure and stressful environment.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Skills

  • Previous customer service experience
  • Strong knowledge of wheelchair assistance and shared mobility systems
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on managing customer expectations and handling inquiries effectively
  • Must have a professional appearance and adhere to the company grooming/uniform policy
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends, and be able to report to work on a regular and timely basis
  • Requires flexibility to work additional hours beyond the regular shift, on short notice, and as needed during irregular operations.
  • Must be able to pass all prerequisites to obtain a airport badge.

Work Environment

The Wheelchair Agent will work both indoors and outdoors in secure airport environments, often under variable weather conditions and elevated noise levels. Standard office equipment may be used for reporting and communication.
