Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, EVS, the Environmental Services (EVS) Attendant is responsible for maintaining best-in-class standards of extensive cleanliness and sanitation throughout the Casino and off-site buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Dusts and sanitizes furniture and equipment (slot bases, slot chairs, stanchions, information signs, etc.). Accountable for cleanliness and overall condition of assigned areas, including duties assigned to support the efficient operation of the Department. General cleaning and sanitizing of all areas in the front-of-house and back-of-house of the Casino including off-site locations.
2. Maintains the cleanliness of all slot machines, card tables, and non-gaming areas in a sanitary condition, including emptying and cleaning ashtrays. Cleans and maintains stairwells, elevators, escalators, and people movers, including arranging furniture such as chairs and tables (within area of responsibility). Removes trash and recycling from all receptacles properly and disposes at their designated locations. Operates trash and cardboard compactors following the Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG).
3. Cleans and maintains flooring surfaces throughout the property. Hard flooring maintained by sweeping, mopping, and burnishing. Maintains carpet areas by sweeping, vacuuming, and performing gum removal.
4. Maintains stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to complete duties. Restocks janitor storage areas and notifies management of supplies needed or equipment requiring maintenance. Keeps all chemicals in assigned areas with proper labels according to the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and ensures all cleaning materials and equipment are utilized per manufacturer's instructions.
5. Assists with promoting brand loyalty by engaging in exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, (i.e. answering questions, providing information, greeting and assisting guests whenever possible). Displays a positive and professional demeanor during interactions with fellow team members and internal and external guests. Handles lost & found items following approved policies and procedures.
6. Follows the required procedures for handling, cleaning, disposing, or moving of objects and materials and/or the clean-up of blood, infectious materials, or body fluids containing blood in accordance with the OSHA Blood-borne Pathogen Standard and Enterprise's Exposure Control Plan for Blood-borne Pathogens.
7. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Entry level to three (3) months EVS experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)
  • Ability to use all necessary tools and equipment required to complete all duties and jobs.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines when using required chemicals, equipment, tools, and techniques while performing job duties.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Ability to accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain a consistent regular attendance record.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS
  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver's license or insurance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

  • Primary work environment is in a Facilities setting.
  • Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
  • Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Sedentary work: does not involve sitting. May operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone.
  • Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
  • Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
  • Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
  • The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
