Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position at a Level I trauma, academic teaching hospital, requiring SC or compact RN licensure and OR scrub experience.

Details
  • Work in the Main Operating Room of a Level I academic trauma center with 21 OR suites
  • Surgical specialties covered include Trauma, Transplant, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, GU-GYN, and Robotics
  • Nursing team is comprised of 75% RNs and 25% Certified Surgical Technologists, with RNs trained to both scrub and circulate
  • Day shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 6:30 AM-7:00 PM, including Saturday, Sunday, and one weekday
  • No on-call requirement
  • Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
  • BLS certification required (AHA only)
  • Radiation badge required, provided by the agency
  • 2 years of OR nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Scrub experience strongly preferred
  • Level I trauma center experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet-designated hospital with 820 staffed beds
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Nurse-driven, dynamic department utilizing cutting-edge surgical technology
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
  • Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the facility system for one year before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
  • Candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized for placement, as non-local candidates are given preference
  • During hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September), employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval and unit needs
