Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital in Stevens Point, WI is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join our team!
The Exercise Physiologist implements and provides ongoing clinical care for patients in programs within the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation department.
HOURS: Part-Time or .6 FTE, 48 hours every pay period. Day shift.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Clinical knowledge and technical skills as they relate to cardiac and pulmonary rehab normally acquired through completion of a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology or through a Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab.
  • Advanced coursework in cardiovascular/pulmonary physiology/pathology, cardiac/ pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise testing, prescription and ECG interpretation necessary to perform duties.
  • A minimum of two years' clinical experience in cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, cardiovascular care, and individual and group patient and/or community health education necessary to enhance and develop skills preferred.
  • Experience in diabetic or other chronic disease patient population beneficial.
  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist within one year of hire.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. (See Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Training Policy).
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Course or the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Course including a hands-on skills practice session with an AHA ACLS.
  • Demonstrates team-oriented work and flexibility, as well as good written and verbal communication skills.
