This position will be for 2nd shift 1:30 pm - 12:00 am.
With continual growth comes opportunity and Sargent has an immediate opening for a Material Handler I.
Position Summary:
The person in this role will support the warehouse/stockroom and be responsible for inventory records including counting, storing, records comparison, and rotating stock in the warehouse or stockroom daily.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety is the foundation of daily work through vigilance and accountability.
  • Stocks and issues materials or supplies.
  • Able to handle pressure smoothly and productively.
  • Handle unexpected challenges with a positive outlook.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Less than 2 years general knowledge of warehouse/stockroom environment.
  • Must have basic math skills, read pick lists, data printouts, bills of material and other documents. Accuracy of data entry, accounts and record keeping is essential.
  • General knowledge of warehouse/stockroom procedures.
  • Must be computer literate. Intermediate a plus
  • Must be detail-oriented with good mathematical abilities.
  • Must be able to bend and lift 40 lbs.
  • Must have ability to work as a team member to achieve the company's quality and production standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with production employees and managers.
  • Strong organization skills, self-starter with initiative and ability to work with minimal.
  • Must be flexible with overtime and weekends, as necessary.
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous Warehouse Experience in a Military, Commercial or Medical environment
  • Operate Manual and Electric Power Pallet Jacks
  • Power tool knowledge (Rotating saw, hand saw, hammer, drills)

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to safely move about in a variety of work environments, from office to manufacturing floor, and other.
  • Ability to remain on a manufacturing shop floor for extended periods, while meeting specified safety requirements (i.e., vision protection, foot/toe protection, and others as appropriate).
  • Detail oriented - good vision is necessary to make decisions on the acceptability of product.
