Job description

The Granite YMCA is seeking Kid Zone Attendants to join our fun, welcoming, and mission-driven team! This is a great opportunity to gain experience in youth development while creating a safe, engaging environment for children as their parents enjoy the YMCA.
As a Kid Zone Attendant, you'll play an important role in supporting families by providing short-term care for children in a positive, nurturing setting for up to two hours per visit. With flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth, this is more than just a job-it's a chance to make a meaningful impact every day.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide a physically and emotionally safe environment for all children in the Kid Zone
  • Create fun, developmentally appropriate activities for a variety of ages
  • Build positive relationships with children; actively engage and supervise at all times
  • Model and promote YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of each child in your care
  • Monitor parent/guardian sign-in and sign-out; enforce time limits for program use
  • Build and maintain effective, positive relationships with parents/guardians
  • Complete required tracking and attendance documentation
  • Participate in a culture of open feedback and continuous improvement

Qualifications:
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience working with children in a childcare, camp, or recreational setting preferred
  • Ability to engage and supervise children of varying ages in a group setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, positive, and energetic approach to working with youth
