The successful applicant would be available to work 8 hours per day during the summer.
An applicant 18 years of age or older is preferred.
  1. TITLE: Grounds Crew

  1. QUALIFICATIONS:
  2. Valid Idaho Driver's License.
  3. Physically capable of performing assigned tasks.
  4. Mechanical aptitude.
  5. Ability to read and write and to understand operating instructions.
  6. Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  7. Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
  8. Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

  1. REPORTS TO: Grounds Supervisor

  1. JOB GOALS:

To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To maintain the ground of all district schools in a condition of safety, neatness and aesthetic attractiveness so that each student may be provided with an outdoor environment both pleasing in appearance and enjoyable for play.
  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists trades in all facets of grounds maintenance and care; including but not limited to: sprinkler system installation and repair, playground equipment installation and repair, weeding, trimming, mowing, etc.
  2. Maintains and weeds the district's landscape areas and planters.
  3. Operates grounds equipment safely and properly under the supervision of the Crew Leader.
  4. Completes required paperwork.
  5. Maintains high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
  6. Has regular and predictable attendance.
  7. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Performs all other duties as assigned.

  1. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

These are seasonal positions scheduled for 8 hours per day from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. during the summer. Monday through Friday is considered the normal workweek. Emergency conditions may arise that will require attention at any hour of the day or night. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule as a Grade 4 - $15.28 per hour.
This is an "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
  1. EVALUATION:

Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Grounds Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
This position has been given an overall physical classification of heavy duty.
