Job Title: Banquet Server – High-End Venue

Job Overview: As a Banquet Server​ or Bartender you will play a key role in delivering outstanding service at weddings, private events, and special functions held ​at various catering ​venues, universities and private homes. You will be responsible for providing a high standard of service, ensuring guests’ needs are met, and contributing to the smooth operation of events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Service: Serve food and beverages to guests in an elegant, professional manner, adhering to the venue’s service standards. This includes plated and buffet-style service, cocktail receptions, and dessert stations.

  • Wedding and Event Coordination: Assist with wedding service setups, ensuring all tables, chairs, linens, and decor are arranged to perfection before guests arrive. Serve the bride, groom, and guests with special attention to detail.

  • Guest Interaction: Engage with guests politely and attentively, addressing any requests or inquiries promptly and professionally. Ensure a positive experience by offering personalized service to high-profile clientele.

  • Catering Hall Operations: Assist with banquet setup and breakdown, ensuring the venue is ready for each event and providing a seamless service during events. Set up, replenish, and clear buffet stations or cocktail bars as required.

  • Food and Beverage Knowledge: Display knowledge of the event menu and drink offerings, assisting guests with any dietary or allergy-related inquiries.

  • Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the event space is clean and organized throughout the event. Clear plates, glassware, and silverware promptly to maintain a tidy environment.

  • Collaboration: Work alongside other team members, including chefs, bartenders, and event coordinators, to ensure the event flows smoothly and guests’ needs are met.

  • Event Support: Help with additional tasks as necessary, such as preparing event rooms, delivering guest requests, or assisting with event breakdown and clean-up after the event concludes.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience in banquet serving or hospitality, preferably in a high-end or luxury venue.​ If no experience we can train you if you are eager to learn.

  • Customer Service: Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly demeanor. Ability to anticipate guest needs and provide an outstanding level of service.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays of food and beverages for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry items up to [weight, e.g., 25 lbs].

  • Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Weddings and events often occur during these times.

  • Appearance: Well-groomed, in line with venue standards. Black tie or appropriate attire required based on event specifications.

  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in wedding service or luxury event catering.
  • Knowledge of wine and cocktail service.
  • TIPS or equivalent alcohol service certification.
