Pleasant Vista on Dancing Creek is growing, and we’re looking for friendly, dependable, hospitality-minded Event Servers to join our team.

Pleasant Vista is a distinctive event and hospitality venue in Amherst County offering weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate retreats, private celebrations, special dinners, and other memorable experiences.

We’re looking for people who genuinely enjoy taking care of others.

Previous serving or catering experience is certainly helpful — but we are willing to train the right person.

For us, attitude, reliability, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality matter just as much as experience.

What You’ll Do

As an Event Server, you’ll help create an exceptional guest experience from setup through the end of the event.

Responsibilities may include:

• Setting tables and preparing event spaces
• Setting up buffets, beverage stations and service areas
• Welcoming guests warmly and professionally
• Serving plated meals, buffets and family-style meals
• Passing hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hours
• Providing water, coffee, tea and beverage service
• Serving desserts and specialty food stations
• Clearing and maintaining tables throughout events
• Responding to guest needs in a friendly and professional manner
• Communicating with kitchen, bar and event staff
• Following food-safety and allergen-awareness procedures
• Assisting with event breakdown and cleanup
• Resetting event spaces following service

• Able to take direction and also recognize what needs to be done
• Available for evening and weekend events

Previous restaurant, banquet, catering, wedding, hotel or hospitality experience is preferred, but not required for the right candidate.

Physical Requirements

Event service is active work. Applicants should generally be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Carry trays, dishes and service equipment
• Lift approximately up to 50 pounds when necessary
• Bend, reach and repeatedly set and clear tables
• Work both indoors and outdoors depending upon the event

Schedule

This is an event-based position rather than a traditional restaurant schedule.

Most opportunities will occur on:

• Fridays
• Saturdays
• Sundays
• Evenings
• Occasional weekdays and holidays

Shifts generally include preparation before guests arrive as well as breakdown and cleanup following the event.

This can be an excellent opportunity for someone seeking flexible, supplemental weekend and evening income.
