We’re hiring a Full-Time Event Producer to join our team and take the lead on multiple client events and in-house produced projects. This is a client-facing, logistics-heavy role with opportunities to shine creatively in production, logistics, and design.

You’ll manage a variety of events: from nonprofit fundraisers, to VIP Tech Summits, and community festivals (like UNDISCOVERED SF and POC Food & Wine Festival ), to nonprofit fundraisers, to non-traditional weddings through our sister company Weddings In Color .

This role is ideal for:

• Event freelancers ready for stability
• Former Admins/EAs/Project Managers with past event experience and excellent organization skills
• Experienced event planners who want deeper purpose and community

This role will require working weekend dates when we have events or weddings booked. These dates should be reserved for upcoming events:

• Saturday October 24, 2026

• March 26, 2027
• August 28, 2027

Role Breakdown :

• 20% creative/design/curation

*Please keep this in mind as this is a production heavy role.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Source and manage venues, coordinate vendors, and negotiate contracts. Sample vendors include but are not limited to:
  • Catering & Bar
  • A/V, Lighting, Stage
  • Rentals, Decor, and Lookbook creation
  • Entertainment, Activities, Transportation and more
• Review contracts and manage vendor scope of work
• Oversee on-site event production, vendor load-in/out, and staff coordination
• Oversee day-of execution and vendor load-in/out
• Manage onsite staffing and Ops team

• Serve as lead planner on assigned projects and events across our agency (Make It Mariko) and our wedding company (Weddings In Color)
• Create project timelines, track deliverables, and manage communications using Google GSuite
• Directly manage client communications and meetings
• Prepare event agendas, run-of-show documents, and client updates
• Manage complex event budgets, layouts, and experience design
• Day of Timeline & Run of Show creation
• Logistics Coordination (Registration, Travel, Sponsors as needed per each event)
• Plan beautiful, non-traditional weddings with Bay Area couples

Google GSuite (Gmail, Meet, Drive, Calendar, Slides, Sheets, Docs, Chat/Spaces), Clickup, Cvent Social Tables, Zoom

• Create beautiful, compelling lookbooks and slide decks to design and plan client events
• Partner with our design team to build branded event assets, signage, and lookbooks
• Write compelling copy for guest communications and event materials

• Attend regular team meetings and check ins as needed per project
• Use GSuite/GTasks to track weekly tasks and hours
• Keep event materials (spreadsheets & decks) updated regularly
• Collaborate across the team to improve team processes, efficiency, and overall happiness
• Build strong relationships with industry professionals, influencers, performers, and community members
• Respond to messages within 24-48 hours and elevate as needed
• Professionally represent the company at all events

• We operate like a lean startup. Everyone pitches in and helps as needed. No one is too good to clean up garbage or carry barricades, even our CEO.
• The work moves fast and change happens frequently. If you don’t manage change well, this is not the company for you.
• We have high design and write standards. There will most likely be a lot of redlines and edits at first. It’s not personal.
• We like working in person, and we’re San Francisco based (and proud!).
• We often deal with complex challenges and ambiguous goals. The pace changes often, clients often don’t know what they want, and they pay us to figure that out for them.

• Starting September 28, 2026 – Part Time Hourly Non-Exempt ($36 – $40 per hour dependent on experience)
• Starting November 9, 2026 – Full Time Exempt ($75-85K salary dependant on experience)

We will co-work together at least 2 times per week on Tuesday and Thursday (or more depending on need) from our San Francisco studio, which is currently located at 447 Minna Street in SOMA Pilipinas Filipino Cultural Heritage District. We are committed to building community in the cultural district with our events, and are looking for someone who feels equally excited about this work. All other work can be done remotely.

• At least 3-4 years professional experience working directly in Project Management, Event Planning, or Production management. You must have had some experience planning events in the past (e.g. team happy hours, retreats, summits, conferences, fundraisers, weddings etc).
• Must have experience working directly with Clients in the past, and can lead with a mix of command, authority, and empathy.
• Past wedding planning experience isn’t mandatory, but you should be *excited* about becoming a Wedding Planner. Training will be provided.
• Highly proactive, organized, and deadline-driven
• Emotionally intelligent with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable with ambiguity and attuned to people’s needs
• Skilled problem solver with a resourceful, solution-oriented mindset
• Growth mindset with willingness to learn and scale
• Confident writer with strong creative and presentation skills (we use the Oxford comma here)
• Culturally competent, especially around language related to POC and marginalized communities
• Bonus: Experience with artists, social justice orgs, or nonprofits

• Ability to work from our San Francisco office 2-3 times a week, or more depending on need
• Must be proficient with Google GSuite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, & Slides)
• Must have access to a car.

• Friday September 4, 2026 – Application Deadline
• September 28, 2026 – This will begin as a part time employee role. This is our ideal start date for part time employee work to begin.
• November 9, 2026 – First day as a full time employee!
