Job description

Peoples Gas Light & Coke Co, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking Utility Worker / Vault Specialists in our Chicago IL locations. This position is represented by Local 18007 Union.

Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for working with Vault Mechanic I on district regulator vault inspections which consists of pulling
    vault covers (approximately 40 per day on average), pumping water from vault, shoveling snow, clearing debris.
  • Works with Vault Mechanic I on vault truck assisting in regulator inspections and maintenance.
  • Testing security valves, making control lines, pipeline surveys, leak inspections and rechecks, inspecting and maintaining valves and shutdown activities including purging and gassing mains and operating network valves. 
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, HSED, or GED Required
  • Employees may be required to report at the Company's discretion to any one of the 3 locations.
  • Must have or obtain during 180 day probationary period a minimum Class C Commercial Driver's License and have a clear driving record.
  • Successful completion of the Operator Qualification Training Program and Vault Department training

End Date: 06/12/2026

Minimum Posting Range:  $36.24 

Maximum Posting Range:  $52.21 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
