IBM created WebSphere as a type of technology and a brand of software used by business applications for e-commerce transactions. A WebSphere administrator’s responsibilities are to manage the server and provide support to companies using the program. In this role, your duties include overseeing deployment and operational tasks, monitoring application server performance, modifying and updating technical documentation, creating reports, and determining project requirements. You deploy the program on the server, work with the application while it is live, provide problem diagnosis, create configuration reports, and conduct internal tests. A WebSphere administrator may provide support through email, chat, or phone calls.
