SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is seeking a Social Media and Digital Communications Manager. The Social Media and Digital Communications Manager strengthens SAR's digital presence by creating engaging, compelling content. This role blends social media strategy, website management, digital content production, and support for schoolwide communications. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker, strong writer, and nimble content creator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy

  • Develop a timely, creative, relevant, and mission-aligned social media plan

  • Develop, schedule, and post content across all social channels (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, as appropriate).

  • Monitor trends, propose creative ideas, and shape new storytelling formats.

  • Track engagement, audience growth, and content performance across platforms; use data to strengthen storytelling and refine digital strategy, and generate monthly reports with recommended improvements.

Content Creation

  • Partner with the media team to catalog photo and video assets, produce high-quality posts (reels, short- and long-form videos, interviews, montages, stories, captions, graphics) and rapid-response pieces.

  • Provide on-the-ground coverage and capture moments across student activities, classrooms, and community programs for timely, high-impact posts.

  • Oversee quick-turn recaps for social media, newsletters, and the website.

  • Implement a strategic, thoughtful social media calendar that aligns with school values and both evergreen and news-related opportunities

Website Management

  • Post news blogs, photo galleries, program highlights, and fresh content to keep the website current and dynamic.

  • Refresh images, blurbs, and pages as needed to reflect ongoing school life.

  • Cross-post and coordinate updates with social media and email communications to maintain consistency across all digital platforms.

Email & Communications Support

  • Draft and format emails, event reminders, and digital graphics as needed.

Create headers, visuals, and embedded media to elevate schoolwide emails.
