Job description

The YouthVantage Alliance is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing and Events Intern to support our agency marketing initiatives. The intern will gain hands-on experience provides support with marketing and events, ensuring we are meeting our mission to empowering children and youth to discover their full potential. The intern will gain experience in marketing, social media, event management, record keeping, networking with community partners and non-profit organizations, and interpersonal and time management skills. This is a part-time, unpaid internship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing
• Create flyers and marketing campaigns
• Make website updates as requested
• Create graphics for social media posts
Event Management
• Submit facilities support requests and ensure follow through to prepare event spaces
• Assist with event marketing and planning, including flyers, communication, location/room selection, and set up
• Provide support during event time, including run of show tasks
• Assist with breakdown of events
Related Agency Activities
• Participate in self-assessment, developing professional goals and objectives
• Attend staff meetings, town halls, and meetings
• Participate in all required reporting and deadlines at the organizational level, including but not limited to those related to expense management, mileage, and grant requirements
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in progress (marketing, business, or related field preferred)
• Experience or willingness to work with individuals of diverse populations
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with program participants, parents/guardians, and professionals
• Strong emotional intelligence with a passion for working with diverse groups, good judgement, and professional behavior
• Regular, punctual attendance and attention to all responsibilities
• Confidentiality in dealing with participant and organizational information
• Ability to follow directions, guidelines, and policies/procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant technology (Google Docs, Canva, and Adobe)
• Familiarity with social media management and email marketing tools
