Job description

About Responsive
Responsive, the market leader in Strategic Response Management (SRM), helps organizations deliver trusted, winning answers in the moments that decide whether deals are won or lost.
More than 2,000 customers, including Google, Microsoft, Blackrock, T.Rowe Price, Adobe, Amazon, Visa and Zoom and more than 25 of the Fortune 100 rely on Responsive to manage the knowledge, workflows, and intelligence behind business-critical responses - including bids, questionnaires, assessments, and trust centers - that impact nearly half of a company's revenue. The company has been recognized as a leader in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ and has consistently been voted as best in class across multiple G2 categories. Customers have used Responsive to manage more than $1 Trillion in opportunities.
Backed by strong growth and financial performance, Responsive is uniquely positioned to define how organizations scale trusted knowledge and drive revenue. To learn more, visit responsive.io.
About the Role
We're hiring a content leader who shapes how we connect with our customers, scaling a content engine that is both engaging and commercially effective.
You're someone who understands that most B2B content is painfully forgettable - polished, jargon-rich, and written for internal approval instead of real humans. We want better than that.
We want content that earns attention, creates recognition, and makes customers, prospects, and partners feel understood. The right person is equal parts editor-in-chief, strategist, and tastemaker. You'll lead a small, high-impact team, partnering closely across marketing and GTM leadership to define how Responsive shows up in a market being rapidly reshaped by AI.
What You'll Do
Build content that grabs attention and drives engagement
  • Translate Responsive's narrative, market perspective, and campaign priorities into a cohesive multi-channel content strategy
  • Set editorial standards, voice, and tone that make our work more human, accessible, opinionated, and valuable to customers and prospects

Create a unified editorial engine that drives pipeline
  • Own the content calendar across thought leadership, campaigns, web, YouTube, customer stories, and related programs and channels
  • Connect company priorities, market trends, customer pain points, product launches, marquee events, and executive voices into integrated campaigns that make the most of moments that matter
  • Balance creativity with performance, using audience insight, campaign, and channel data to strengthen engagement, conversion, and pipeline impact

Build for human and AI-driven discovery
  • Ensure Responsive's website and content are built for both human and AI-enabled discovery and engagement as buyers increasingly research and make decisions using search, social, communities, and AI assistants
  • Partner with growth team to improve S/A/GEO, organic visibility, and website clarity

Raise the bar and model the craft
  • Coach team, business partners, and executives to communicate with greater clarity, authenticity, and audience empathy
  • Write, edit, and shape select high-impact pieces yourself - from thought leadership assets to social presence

Lead the team and creative bench
  • Manage a small team of copywriters and creators alongside freelance, agency, PR/social, and research partners
  • Create clear briefs, standards, processes, and feedback loops that enable high-quality work at scale

Who you are:
  • An editorially minded storyteller with strong taste, judgment, and a high bar for quality
  • A sharp writer and editor who can make complex ideas clear, human, and compelling, pushing beyond the boundaries of safe or generic B2B content
  • A commercially minded marketer who understands how content supports pipeline, campaigns, conversion, and expansion
  • Skilled at creating clarity from ambiguity and focusing teams on what matters most
  • Dialed into how AI is changing buyer research and interactions and able to evolve content strategy accordingly
  • A visible voice with a body of work - published writing, social presence, podcasts, or other evidence that you can shape and share a point of view in the market

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive content marketing and strategy experience in B2B/B2C tech
  • 5+ years in marketing leadership roles, including coaching copywriters and freelancers
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Journalism, editorial, communications, or publishing background is a plus

Additional Information

A candidate's starting base salary will be determined by the specific responsibilities of the role, as well as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and current market trends.
