Pay Range
$41,600.00-$52,600.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
Interns thrive at JM because we give our employees the ability to do things they wouldn't be able to anywhere else. As a Research & Development Intern - Glass Engineering Intern in R&D you will work side by side with other engineering professionals and leadership by participating in hands on activities such as sampling, analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvements as well as being responsible for documentation and various initiatives.
Your Day to Day:
  • Work under supervision of senior engineers.
  • Develop systems for high temperature glass analysis. Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to ensure designs work for all parties.
  • Physical testing of glass properties.
  • Data analysis and statistical process control on measurements
  • Documentation and record keeping.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in materials science, ceramics engineering, glass engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
  • Upcoming senior or recent undergraduate that is pursuing further education.
  • Ability to start full time in May 2027 and work until August 2027.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with several engineers on various projects.
  • Ability to coordinate and work with cross functional groups including Analytical, Business and Sourcing Groups.
Preferred Qualifications
  • GPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Basic understanding of production processes
  • Strategic and creative thinking
  • Solid works experience
