What You'll Actually Do

Chevron is hiring at various operating locations across the U.S., including:

Materials Engineersmay work at any of Chevron's worldwide operations or with Chevron's Technology, Projects and Execution team.Mobility is encouraged as there are many opportunities for Chevron engineers to work in a variety of assignments initially at different domestic locations and possibly international locations later in their careers.Our Horizons training program combines technical training and mentoring with on-the-job experience, providing you with two to three assignments in the first five years. Horizons is intended to build technical breadth and depth at an accelerated rate. The program aids you in determining a career path, which can involve a wide range of activities including metallurgy, welding, corrosion control, and non-metallic materials. You will support the global operation of refineries, oil fields, pipelines, and chemical, as well as participate in the design of new facilities. Your duties will include material selection, resolving corrosion problems, conducting failure analyses, researching and solving problems, and providing non-destructive examination support. You'll participate on teams that help other engineers make the best use of current materials technology.

What You Must Have

The following are required qualifications:

  • Students completing the last year of the requirements for their Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in Metallurgical, Materials, or Corrosion Engineering, or individuals with a Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Metallurgical, Materials, or Corrosion Engineering with two years or less directly related work experience.
  • Strong academic performance in core programs, communication, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Theanticipatedsalary range for this position is $111,000- $136,000 annually. The selected candidate's compensation will bedeterminedbased on their respective degree level and discipline.
  • Chevron offers competitive compensation and benefits programs whichincludes, but is not limited to, variable pay, health care coverage, retirement plan, protection coverage, time off and leave programs, training and development opportunities and a range of allowances connected to specific work situations.
