Mechanical Engineer

Milwaukee, WI

Direct Full Time Permanent


Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing quality control or inspection role
  • Proficiency with Google Suite or Microsoft Office and digital quality record systems
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques
  • Proficiency with inspection tools and precision measuring systems
  • Expertise with automated laser measurement systems and CMMs
  • Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Hands-on experience with vision systems, calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Basic knowledge of high-tech grade materials such as specialty metals, high-purity gases, chemicals, and ceramics
  • Experience following, reviewing, and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Ability to work inside a cleanroom or laboratory environment while handling small, delicate parts


Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on all incoming raw materials, fabricated components, and production parts
  • Design, deploy, and manage a structured plan to systematically eliminate the uninspected material backlog and optimize throughput
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with production, engineering, and quality teams to build, test, and implement an automated deviation process
  • Own the defect management process by identifying non-conformances, isolating faulty items, and spearheading collaborative root cause analysis and CAPA tracking
  • Audit, author, and continuously update Incoming Quality Control (IQC) practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and specialized work instructions
