Job description

Nature of Work PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ARE ON THE HORIZON. The City of Huntsville's Traffic Engineering department is seeking qualified Traffic Engineering employees to fill our Traffic Engineer I position. Traffic Engineer I Position Overview: This is journey level professional and administrative work in addressing traffic and transportation issues and planning, designing and inspecting according to applicable laws, regulations, and standards and evaluating traffic engineering and other transportation projects.

Work involves developing systems and plans to facilitate efficient and safe traffic movement and control, prevent accidents, and ensure ample street lighting is provided. Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Traffic Engineering from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education

E.I.T. Certificate in the State of Alabama or E.I.T within eighteen (18) months of hire date. Valid driver's license and good driving record Desired Qualifications: Two (2) years of progressive civil engineering or Traffic engineering experience is desired
