Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Product Engineer (Platform) based in Netherlands.

This is a high-impact, product-first engineering role focused on building and evolving critical backend systems that power blockchain infrastructure at scale. You will take full ownership of features and initiatives, from identifying customer problems to designing solutions, shipping production-ready services, and iterating based on real-world feedback. The role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, platform thinking, and product development, with a strong emphasis on measurable business and customer outcomes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, DevOps, support, and sales to translate complex infrastructure challenges into simple, reliable, and scalable systems. The environment is fast-paced, ownership-driven, and oriented toward autonomy and impact. This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy working close to both users and systems, and who want to see the direct effect of their work on product adoption and reliability.

Accountabilities:
  • Own end-to-end product initiatives, from problem discovery and technical design through implementation, deployment, measurement, and continuous iteration.
  • Translate complex customer and infrastructure challenges (such as provisioning, reliability, scalability, observability, and cost optimization) into clear technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
  • Design and build backend services, APIs, internal tools, and platform capabilities that improve the provisioning, operation, and scaling of blockchain infrastructure.
  • Identify system bottlenecks, reliability risks, and operational inefficiencies, and drive improvements from concept to production.
  • Define and track key product and engineering metrics such as activation, adoption, provisioning time, deployment success rates, incident frequency, and retention.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders (product, DevOps, support, sales) to align technical decisions with business and customer needs.
  • Use modern AI tools throughout the development lifecycle to accelerate research, design, implementation, testing, and analysis while maintaining high quality standards.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong backend exposure in product, platform, or distributed systems environments.
  • Proven ability to independently own and deliver complex technical projects from discovery through production and iteration.
  • Strong product mindset, with the ability to connect engineering decisions to customer value and business impact.
  • Solid experience building and maintaining production-grade backend services, APIs, and integrations in a modern programming language.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including asynchronous and event-driven architectures and associated trade-offs.
  • Hands-on experience with messaging or streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar).
  • Experience deploying and operating services in containerized environments such as Kubernetes, including CI/CD and observability practices.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining strong engineering rigor and quality standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Benefits
  • Competitive USD-based compensation aligned with experience and impact.
  • Equity / stock options enabling participation in long-term company growth.
  • AI-first engineering environment designed to reduce repetitive work and enhance productivity.
  • Modern, cutting-edge tech stack with strong exposure to Web3 and infrastructure innovation.
  • Flat organizational structure with high autonomy and minimal bureaucracy.
  • Flexible working schedule supporting deep work and work-life balance.
  • Opportunity to build in a rapidly growing global infrastructure and blockchain market.
  • Diverse, international team with strong cross-functional collaboration.
