Job Summary

The Student Worker will support the Marketing team with day-to-day operations, content management, and special projects. This role is ideal for students interested in marketing, digital communications, and brand strategy, offering hands-on experience in website management, content organization, and campaign support.

Job Description

General Support

  • Assist with administrative and project-based tasks for the marketing team
  • Support content creation and updates across digital platforms
  • Help maintain brand consistency across materials

Website Redesign & Asset Organization (Enhanced Detail)

  • Audit existing website content and inventory digital assets (images, PDFs, videos, documents)
  • Organize assets into structured folders following naming conventions and taxonomy guidelines
  • Tag and categorize assets for improved searchability and future use
  • Assist in migrating approved content into the new website CMS
  • Resize, compress, or format images and files to meet web standards and accessibility requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure content aligns with updated navigation and user experience goals
  • Maintain a tracking spreadsheet or database to monitor asset status (e.g., reviewed, approved, migrated)
  • Support quality assurance by checking links, formatting, and content accuracy post-migration

Digital Content Support

  • Assist with updates to web pages and landing pages
  • Upload and format content within the CMS

Additional Job Description

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled FGCU student (Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and basic digital tools
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) and/or website platforms is a plus
  • Basic understanding of file management, naming conventions, and digital asset organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Learning Outcomes
