Information Technologist IV – System Server Administrator
Location: Fort Lee, VA
Clearance: Active Secret (Required)
Job Type: Full-Time | On-Site
Join a mission-critical team supporting CASCOM G-6 by ensuring the availability, performance, and security of enterprise servers and training system infrastructure. This role is responsible for maintaining high-availability server environments that directly support Army training and operational readiness.
Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain enterprise server environments (file, web, SQL, printer, and application servers) to ensure continuous availability and peak performance
  • Monitor systems to identify and resolve degradation, outages, and unusual activity, and immediately notify Government stakeholders of critical issues
  • Perform system and server backups and restorations in accordance with CASCOM and NETCOM policies, ensuring data integrity and continuity
  • Manage Active Directory (AD) including account creation/deletion, permissions, and access control troubleshooting
  • Administer storage environments (SAN/NAS) including configuration, maintenance, and high-availability operations
  • Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, document, and decommission servers and associated hardware/software
  • Support configuration management, patching, upgrades, and system baseline maintenance in compliance with DoD/Army standards
  • Perform daily system inspections, diagnostics, and vendor-recommended testing to ensure systems operate within defined tolerances
  • Provide customer support, including service desk ticket resolution, walk-in support, and coordination with external Government resources
  • Support lifecycle replacement of servers and IT infrastructure, including disassembly, relocation, reassembly, and system rebuilds
  • Perform system builds and re-imaging, including support for SAP ERP training systems and other mission applications
  • Support new system fielding, including setup, configuration, training, and development of continuity documentation
  • Maintain and support specialized networks (e.g., ORSA environments) including imaging, configuration, and patching
  • Provide SharePoint and web server administration support as required
  • Analyze system requirements and recommend technical solutions for system and network improvements
  • Ensure all systems comply with DoD, Army, NETCOM, and local security and operational policies

Required Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in system/server administration within enterprise or DoD environments
  • Security+ (IAT II) required

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
    (OR equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Security+ (IAT II) required
