Job description

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the creative development, art direction, and execution of visual experiences that promote and enhance Blue Cross of Idaho and its affiliates.

  • Manage the design, UX, and creative services team responsible for delivering high-quality creative work across print, digital, social, web, video, photography, presentations, and other brand touchpoints.

  • Serve as the creative leader responsible for translating brand and marketing strategies into compelling visual storytelling and creative execution.

  • Provide hands-on art direction, creative coaching, and team leadership while ensuring creative work is delivered efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with established brand standards.

Location: This role allows for a flexible hybrid schedule (onsite Meridian Idaho campus and work-from-home). #LI-Hybrid

To be considered for this opportunity you have:

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, Marketing, User Experience Design, or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years of relevant work experience may be substituted for one year of college).

Required Experience: Seven or more years of experience in creative services, graphic design, art direction, brand marketing, UX/UI design, or related fields.

Depth of experience should encompass:

  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing creative and/or UX teams.

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing creative concepts across digital, print, web, social, video, and integrated marketing channels.

  • Experience working within brand standards and visual identity systems.

  • Experience managing creative workflows, project prioritization, and cross-functional business partner relationships.

We'd also love it if you had:

  • Experience working within a house-of-brands or multi-brand environment.

  • Experience leading both creative design and UX/UI functions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and related creative tools.

  • Experience supporting integrated marketing campaigns, sponsorship activations, and digital experiences.

  • Familiarity with Workfront, Agile, Scrum, or similar project management methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead art direction and establish best practices for creative execution, brand implementation, and visual consistency across Blue Cross of Idaho and its affiliates.

  • Translate brand, marketing, and business strategies into compelling creative concepts, visual storytelling, and design solutions.

  • Communicate complex strategies and ideas through design and creative execution.

  • Conceptualize, create, and oversee the development of creative assets including but not limited to layouts, social media graphics, infographics, presentation decks, branding materials, brochures, templates, websites, digital advertising, print advertising, and campaign materials.

  • Shape the visual direction of websites, campaigns, digital experiences, and branded communications while ensuring adherence to established brand standards.

  • Provide creative direction for photography, video, and multimedia content to support brand, marketing, and business objectives.

  • Oversee the development of executive presentations, visual storytelling assets, and communication materials supporting strategic initiatives.

  • Lead and mentor a team of designers, UX professionals, and supporting creative services functions by providing coaching, creative feedback, and professional development opportunities.

  • Develop team goals, performance expectations, and growth plans while fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage creative intake, resource planning, prioritization, and workflow processes to support efficient delivery of creative work.

  • Own and manage creative workflow processes, including Workfront and Scrum.

  • Prioritize and allocate work to ensure balanced workloads and efficient delivery timelines.

  • Identify opportunities to improve creative operations, team effectiveness, and project visibility through established processes and tools.

  • Create, manage, and maintain design files, templates, brand assets, and digital asset management systems to support consistency and ease of use across teams.

  • Ensure creative work adheres to established brand guidelines, compliance requirements, and creative standards across all channels and brands.

  • Oversee print production, fulfillment, and creative asset quality control to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.

  • Collaborate with internal business partners and external production partners to deliver creative projects effectively and efficiently.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $96,183 to $144,275. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance). The pay range for this position considers a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, internal equity, geography, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
