Job description

Assistant Project Manager – Massachusetts

The Assistant Project Manager supports the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, design team, and subcontractors, this role helps manage project documentation, budgets, schedules, procurement, and communication — ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Aid PM with ROJ log maintenance, reviewing lead times with subcontractors
  • Aid PM in reviewing submittals
  • Process submittals – submission and return
  • Aid PM in writing RFIs
  • Process RFIs – submission and return
  • Write and distribute meeting minutes
  • Distribute Bulletins, chase subcontractors for pricing
  • Obtain insurance certificates / CCIP / OCIP enrollment for all subcontracts, service vendors prior to their arrival onsite. Review w/PM for compliance.
  • Aid PMs in assembling owner change requests
  • Maintain Document Control for project
  • May take on cost engineer roles
  • Create and Track Field Report Open Items Logs, follow thru internally and with Subs for compliance
  • Aid PM with implementing LEED process and documentation
  • Provide punchlist reporting – aid PM and superintendent staff as necessary
  • Obtain, track, and assemble project closeout documentation
Qualifications
  • 0 – 5 years of experience within the construction industry in project management or similar role.
  • A Bachelor’s degree. Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture preferred, but not required.
  • Working knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles.
  • Proven written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
  • Additional proficiencies may include cost management software (ACC Preferred), scheduling software and construction management software (ACC preferred).
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
